State of New York: Hurricane Sandy Long Term Recovery
Disaster Recovery Consultant, Public Assistance, November 2012 – April 2017
Represented NYS DHSES executive leadership at the Sandy Long Term Recovery Office in Queens, NY and the FEMA Region 2 office at One World Trade in Manhattan, NY. Responsible for strategic management of the State's PA operation and team on the ground in NYC while representing NYS DHSES executive leadership based in Albany, NY. Lead the FEMA PA federal reimbursement process for the Long-Term Recovery of all Hurricane Sandy applicants located in NYS; handled/resolved high-level issues with FEMA Region 2 executive leadership; drafted policy proposals; addressed Congressional inquiries; negotiated eligibility determinations, project appeals, projects captured under the FEMA 428 PAAP pilot program and 406 mitigation projects. Responsible for management of 130 NYS DHSES contract employees (at peak staffing) and grant writing projects totaling +$7 Billion.
State of New Jersey: Hurricane Sandy - North Hudson Sewerage Authority
Disaster Recovery Consultant, November 2012 - Present
Contracted to provide Disaster Recovery and Grants Consulting Services. GRM has supported NHSA's Sandy recovery process from the initial diagnostic phase all the way through the FEMA claims processing phase and prepared FEMA claims in excess of $13 million to address emergency, permanent and hazard mitigation needs, allowing the Authority the best possible recovery solutions to their damaged facilities. GRM has also identified several infrastructure improvements, 404 mitigation opportunities, and green infrastructure stormwater management projects, and has secured millions of dollars in specialized federal and state funding.
Louisiana: Hurricanes Katrina & Rita, Hurricanes Gustav & Ike
Disaster Recovery Consultant, July 2009 – October 2012
Assisted several universities, colleges and hospitals in securing $28 million in grant funding and an additional $8.6 million in hazard mitigation funding. Coordinated closely with FEMA management to review grants for policy compliance and accuracy.

Worked with the City of Port Arthur to security $3.2 million in grant funding for 62 sewage treatment plants and City-wide sewer and public water systems.
State of Iowa: Midwest Floods
